Peak Performance Team Assessment (PPTa)

Anchor Coaching Group, June 2024

Our journey with a team towards Enduring Peak Performance begins with a deep understanding of the business, team challenges, and the motivations of the team’s sponsor. The initial step involves gathering data through observations, interviews, and assessments. A key component of this process is the ©PPTa 1.0.

The Assessment Process

The ©PPTa 1.0 comprises 90 questions and takes approximately 15 minutes for each team member to complete online. This assessment complements other methods of gathering information about your team like observations and interviews, offering additional perspectives and insights.

Key Outputs of the Assessment

  1. Team Score on Eight Dimensions: The assessment measures the average team score on eight dimensions critical to peak performance. These scores are benchmarked against those of peak-performing teams that have consistently delivered exceptional results over at least two years. These teams have demonstrated resilience in overcoming significant obstacles, maintained effectiveness despite changes in team composition, and continuously driven innovation through ongoing learning. The team’s score is also compared to the average of all participants who have taken the assessment to date.

  1. Scores on 19 Sub-Dimensions: The assessment provides scores on 19 sub-dimensions, each contributing to a holistic evaluation of your team’s performance. By examining the intricate interplay and alignment of these sub-dimensions, we gain deeper insights into the team’s strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Assessment - subdimensions
  1. Peak Performance Potential Readiness: This score measures the extent to which your team is prepared to adapt swiftly to evolving circumstances, embrace continuous improvement strategies, sustain effectiveness amid team composition changes, and exhibit resilience when facing internal or external challenges. This readiness indicator is constructed from responses across nine key areas, forming the foundation for assessing your team’s preparedness to navigate dynamic environments and excel under pressure.

  1. Individual Perceptions vs. Group Responses: The ©PPTa 1.0 also measures individual team members’ perceptions of their team’s performance compared to the collective view. Discrepancies in these perceptions can lead to feelings of isolation or superiority, hindering collaboration and synergy within the team. Both overly positive and negative perceptions can impede the team’s ability to achieve or maintain peak performance.

Leader Feedback

The ©PPTLa 1.0 includes feedback for the team leader on their effectiveness in guiding the team across the eight dimensions and 19 sub-dimensions. This feedback helps leaders understand their impact on the team’s journey to Enduring Peak Performance.

While ©PPTa 1.0 is just one method of gathering data about your team, it has proven to be a helpful, thought-provoking, and eye-opening tool. It aids teams in understanding their strengths and identifying opportunities for growth, ultimately supporting the achievement of Enduring Peak Performance.
